The United Nations celebrates English Language Day on April 23rd, a date that traditionally marks both the birth and death of William Shakespeare.

This choice recognizes Shakespeare's profound influence on the English language, as he remains its most celebrated playwright.

5th grade pupils were engaged in various activities to celebrate this special day! They wrote biopoems based on the Bard's life, read quotes and created thaumatropes inspired by some of his most well known quotes.

Here's a presentation with a selection of pupils' work.
