Documentary "D Minor...Off We Go"

This year, we embarked on an exciting collaborative project with two primary schools, delving into the  world of rebetiko music. To see more details about the project visit the link below.

The Rebetiko Project

One of the end products of the project was the collaborative creation of a documentary that  focused on  the cultural significance of rebetiko highlighting the contributions of Vamvakaris and Tsitsanis, the two legends of rebetiko genre. It features interviews conducted by our pupils with Mr. Korovinis and Mr. Strouthopoulos, whose lives are closely connected to rebetiko. Additionally, it showcases historical sites of Thessaloniki that have significant ties to the rebetiko tradition.

We took part in the 3rd Film Festival for schools at the Olympion cinema.

Stop motion animation
"Cooking up hope"

A stop motion animation film created by the pupils of the fifth grade. The life journey of a refugee who had to abandon her homeland in Smyrna due to the  Catastrophe in 1922.  Like many other refugees, she fled to Greece with the hope of a new beginning. The story is based on autobiographical elements of a pupil’s great great grandmother.

Short Film
"Ano Poli...our neighbourhood"

A short film documentary created by the pupils of the sixth grade! Ano Poli or Upper Town is a colorful neighbourhood in Thessaloniki, Greece with traditional houses, Byzantine walls and monuments and a breath-taking view to the Thermaikos Gulf and Mount Olympus.  That makes it a popular destination for tourists every year! But it's also our pupils' neighbourhood where they enjoy meeting friends and spending time with them!
